lyrics

we fade to black
we fade away to another stray idea on this track
feels like gravitational pulls
where we symbolize wise men dependent on fools
a machine with a faceless smile
versus a warrior with a baseless style
in an ageless fight to impact the spot in the time we've got
using verbal dynamite
detonating the dramatic device
with a newspeak vocab that calls for twice the attention of the norm
but thoughts transform up to par with liquid
in the way they switch form
meanwhile loose lips sink battalions
friendly fire aimed at the average civilian
duck and cover techniques now apply
as these top cats fall ffrom positions on high

now we can all move along to a new phase
away from these strange days

we can let the years be the remedy
of the modern day abstract way we play into these tendencies
temporary satisfaction
that satisfies the now without need for action
the ballad of the thin man's accuser
coming to grips with how these slips can lose ya
time slips away similar
my length is real and only goes so far
so i reach out often
spreading this word like Fallen
answering to a higher calling
driven by an internal force
with an external locale as its main source
influences too vast to list
unless i mask them in the confines of this verse and others
parade it as disposable art
so that from the inside things get torn apart

now we can all move along to a new phase
away from these strange days

the thrill is gone
and it never seemed too much like a thrill for long
yet it passed
a shadow cast onto my whole state of being
one day i'll see what the whole world is seeing
for now, i think it'd be best
if we maintain position right ahead of the rest of the present day poets
share our position with those
who truly can understand how it goes
i suppose that we'd be mistaken
to question how seriously we've been taken
during the years we've searched for our identity
if the entire world remembered me as a child
seems things would be obscured
to a point so drastic they can't be cured
lured into bright lights and big sounds
without the background of how it all goes down

now we can all move along to a new phase
away from these strange days
